Terms of Service

Last updated: March 9, 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using freightvet.com ("the Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

2. Description of Service

FreightVet is a safety comparison tool that displays publicly available FMCSA data for registered motor carriers. We are not a freight broker, freight forwarder, or motor carrier. We do not arrange, facilitate, or guarantee any transportation services.

3. Data Sources and Accuracy

Safety data displayed on FreightVet is sourced from the FMCSA's publicly available databases, including the Safety Measurement System (SMS), SAFER System, and Census data. While we update this data regularly, there may be delays between FMCSA updates and our display.

Our composite safety scores and letter grades are calculated using our own methodology applied to FMCSA data. They represent our analysis and should not be treated as official government ratings or as a substitute for conducting your own carrier qualification process.

4. No Guarantee of Safety

A high safety score on FreightVet does not guarantee that a carrier will transport your freight safely. A low safety score does not mean a carrier will cause loss or damage. Safety data is historical and may not predict future performance. Always conduct your own due diligence before tendering freight to any carrier.

5. Not Professional Advice

Content on this Site is for informational purposes only and should not be considered legal, regulatory, or professional advice. For specific compliance questions, consult qualified legal or regulatory professionals.

6. User Accounts

Some features require an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us of any unauthorized use.

7. Carrier Profile Claims

Carriers who claim profiles on FreightVet agree to provide accurate business information. Misrepresenting safety records, insurance status, operating authority, or other material facts may result in profile suspension.

8. Intellectual Property

Our safety scoring methodology, website design, and editorial content are owned by FreightVet and protected by copyright law. The underlying FMCSA data is public information. You may not reproduce our proprietary analysis or scoring without written permission.

9. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

  • Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download data from the Site without permission
  • Submit false or misleading information
  • Use the Site to defame, harass, or disparage any carrier
  • Attempt to manipulate safety scores or ratings
  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FreightVet shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site or any shipping decisions made based on information found on the Site. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FreightVet, its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Site or violation of these Terms.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use this Site. By using the Site, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the Site shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Texas. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

15. Dispute Resolution

Before filing any legal claim, you agree to contact us at [email protected] and provide written notice describing the nature of the dispute. We will attempt to resolve the dispute informally within 30 days of receiving notice. If the dispute is not resolved within that period, either party may pursue formal legal remedies.
